I just got a mtn bike and I want to hit a trail this weekend. The stillwell/greenbelt trail is the closet to me. I'm a little confused though..... Is the greenbelt trail a different trail than the stillwell? Whats the easiest way to access the trail from Jericho tpke?

The greenbelt is a "path" that travels through a good part of long island, linking several parks as well.
Stillwell has a "loop" with different routes ranging in difficulty, best to check out www.climbonline.org for more info on those trails,
good luck,
Is the greenbelt trail a different trail than the stillwell? Whats the easiest way to access the trail from Jericho Turnpike? As stated by others, the Greenbelt will get you to Stillwell by going north. If you wish to start at Jericho Turnpike, park in the lot next to the Stop and Shop just west of Woodbury Road. You can pick up the Greenbelt there and ride it up to the loop that starts just north of the train tracks.
If you just want to start with just Stillwell, go farther west to Southwoods Road and take that north to the soccer fields on the right and go ALL the way back and park and start the loop from there. I think it's a less confusing way to get to know the area.
