Hey guys, plan on visiting a friend while I'm in the Dirty Jerz for a conference. I'll be at Rutger's Douglass Campus and he's at Princeton. It's only 12 miles and I'll have la bicicleta, any ideas for an easy route, only road I can see on Google that is direct is State Route 1, doesn't look safe.

I went to med school there. From what I recall, Route 1 is strictly for cars. You'll have the take Rt 27, which is parallel to Rt 1 for the ride down to Princetown.

Just a little bit of info- it's hardpack not pavement, at least the part I've ridden on, so it can be a little sketchy with narrow road tires. I did ride it on 700x23c with no problems, but YMMV. It's a very nice route.

if you do end up choosing Rt 27, I remember it's mostly a single lane road. Gets busy around rush hour, especially closer to New Brunswick.
