Hi everyone,

River Falls checking in. I'm a recovering upright rider. Having put on a bit of weight over the years, I tried an inexpensive Y-frame mtb last year thinking the suspension would allow me to start pedaling again for the first time in 10 years.

Nope.

After an older relative mentioned being able to ride a recumbent trike after back surgery, I did some hunting around the Mpls/St. Paul area and bought a Sun EZ1 sx a few months ago. Went 10 miles the first day, 40 miles the first week, and just turned in a 40 mile rail-trail ride, averaging 15 for the first half, 13 the second. No pain other than quad fatigue and sunburn, and grin cramps...

I've already found the bent forum, so I'll probably spend much of my time perusing the threads there.

Hello Karl, enjoy your 'bent, but don't forget to come out and visit some of the other forums.

Welcome to BF!

Thanks, EH. I've already found the regional boards. There's a weekly ride in town that I'm not quite ready for (40 miles at a brisk pace), so I'll be working up to it.

I'm not certain if I would be up to a brisk 40 miles! (Well, a moderate 40 miles would be easy--it's the brisk part I don't know about :) ).

Enjoy!
