Anyone heard of or dealt with this seat post http://pricepoint.com/product1833.html? It's a bit lighter then EastonEC70 http://pricepoint.com/product1690.html, but cost less. Is it because of a less known name or because of the actual quality of the product? Any input is appreciated!
the thomson post isn't carbon. it's also shorter (by 100mm in a 27.2 diameter) which may explain why it's slightly lighter. it surely explains the price difference.

Thomson posts IMO are the best that money can buy. I'd buy the Thomson every time over an Easton even if the they cost more.
The Thomson has the best seat clamp I've ever tried and the quality is unsurpassed. Check them out in person if you get a chance and you'll see what I mean.
Not just gibberish from someone who doesn't actually own the product as I run them on all my bikes. I wouldn't spend my own money on a carbon post as I've seen a good number fail from improper installation - just too fragile for the $$$s.
Yup, you guessed it, I really like Thomson products :D

whatever you pay for the thomson, its worth it. bomb proof if anything.
I'll second the Thompson.
although if you want a carbon post then Easton is the name to have, ...or Campag Record.
Carbon or not, it doesn't really matter as long as it 's strong, durable and light.
