Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I wouldn't even let him look at mine.

What bike do you have, efrobert?
I can understand Kona not wanting me to touch his bike. I'd hate to embarass him on his OWN bike afterall.

Consider the facts, EVERY ride report that Siu and Jon have done has had a part in the story where something on Jon's bike breaks. YOU DO THE MATH!

I picked up a Fltye SRS-3 frame and built it with Ultegra components.
There's a pic in this thread.

Although it has a different crank now, and the white bar tap didn't stay white for long, so I re did it in Blue. I also have a Felt Tri bike.

It would be quite the opposite there pinky. If you would even try my bike you would probably eat dirt in the first turn, my mtb is a slalom/4x bike and is set up to turn quickly your mtb does not have that kind of geometry and turns slower. I fly on that bike. Can also assure you that if you were to build a bike similarly specced to mine and we were to race on a bmx track, or on a slalom course, you would get owned.
With the fixie, you'd get bucked off within the first two pedal strokes. Not to mention you probably don't have the leg strength to push a 50/15 gearing all of the time. When you can ride well and can prove that you can, then maybe I will let you try my bikes, which is most unlikely. I don't let anyone touch my bikes, it's my one superstition. The only one who touches my bike is me.

I can tell you from personal experience that nothing too bad happens if you only let him touch it gently with the very tippy-tip of one index finger.
Now if you let him plant his pink-and-duct-tape-clad butt on your saddle, all bets are off.
