Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello Pete's fellow bikers, this is his wife, Toni. Just thought I'd share a pic of Pete about 2 days after this horrifying incident. Remember always to wear your helment and any other saftey gear, you can NEVER be to safe!

Holy bejeezus! Can you say"OUCH!?" I hate it when we get all mangled up and someone will say "it could have been worse", but you are damn lucky my friend...You hit that cement hard! I wear a full face helmet. I may look like some hard core downhiller (which I'm not) and absolutely rediculous when I'm crawling up a hill, but I feel a whole lot better with a full face in place.
That looks very very painful and I wish you a speedy and full recovery...

I've got two scars on my left knee from past crashes, and my wounds were never that bad! That is scary! I hope the tosser who did this is really made to pay!

So, we finally get to see what the REAL Pete Clarke looks like!
Seriously, looks bad, but I'm glad to see you're up and around in spite of it all. Get back on that bike and ride!!!
PS - how did the bike make out through it all?

Yowsers! That looks painful! I hope the recovery goes well.
P.S. Nice hair.;)
OUCH!
he looks like he's alive, i'm guessing he was wearing his helment ;)
How did the crash happen? (sorry if its been asked already)
PS - have fun shaving hehe
cheers!
Grilled Vegetables!!!!!! That is way worse than I imagined!!!
You must have landed right smack dab on your face.
Man! Your ears look terrible!
Wait, ummmmmm sorry.
Let the healing begin.
Pete: Get well soon!
Toni: Thank you for the posting. Take good care of Pete. Psychologically, my 1976 collision with a car (concussion, facial lacerations, broken clavicle) was harder on my wife than on me.
WildHare: Tell me more about your full-face helmet. Are there any particular models to consider or to avoid? (I suddenly feel motivated, for some inexplicable reason.)
It's awful to think there are people who will do things like this out there.Get well soon!
Hope you get better soon Pete.

I swear, my first reaction was surprise that he wasn't blue, with a cute little top knot and a gold earring.
I'm also pleased to see trees in the background, instead of ventilators and IV racks and other medical paraphernalia.
Take care, Pete. Get well!
c~
Toni, thanks for the update.
Pete, take a break and make sure all is well healed before getting back on the road with full confidence.
still pray'n 4u and family.
Hey Pete and Toni...glad to see the wreck wasn't any worse! Looks like that hurt!!
Pete...you sure don't look like any sumo wrestler I've ever seen:D
