Hi - I play with my bikes a lot -- on the road or trails -- and at home!
I have a new road bike with an external hollowtech crank/bottom bracket and I am putting the new crank/bb on another road build.
I removed the crank without issue, but the right and left bearings -- the part I would call the bottom bracket (actually called 'adapters' in the shimano spec sheet) are impossible to remove.
Yes, the drive side is left-hand threaded (in fact, the bracket includes a little graphic showing which way to tighten) so I am turning it the correct direction.
I assume the factory installed the bottom bracket with some kind of loctite.
At any rate, I'm powerless to remove them (can't budge the right or left bearing). In fact, I am marring the beautiful outer notched rings with the shimano bottom bracket tool that engages the notches. I'd really like to keep from mucking up the parts.
Any suggestions . . . (and please keep the wise arse comments like "why remove a new bottom bracket from a new bike" to yourself -- I've got my reasons -- even if they aren't very good :) )
