I have been searching for a forum where I can learn a lot. After browsing this forum, I think this is the one for me. I have been cycling on & off for years. I have 2 bikes, a MB Diamondback, and a road bike, a late 80's cannondale. Presently I enjoy riding the road bike, more so than the MB. I prefer the smoother easier surface, due to a hip injury that I had about a year & a half back. I am also a avid runner, and I do enjoy cycling as a cross trainer, takes the pounding off of the legs. I live in Mobile, Al which isn't the friendliest area for cyclists/runners, so I tend to ride on the campus of the Univ of South Al, after work. They have a great 1.5 mile loop with rolling hills, and little if no traffic. Since I am just getting back into cycling I am not riding with anyone as of yet. Just trying to get use to the saddle, and spending time building up a base. My peers all ride anywhere from 19-24 average. So I need to just take my time. My main goal for now, is to build my running back up, to try and requalify for the Boston marathon. I got hurt 2 months out, and had to miss it. Anyway I know that cycling will definitely be the ticket to help me along the way. I actually love both, but it is so hard to find time for both.
