I like the channels on the crankarm--but I'd rather buy new cranks than shell out for vintage campy
or even vintage sugino or suntour

If you are persistent, you can get a set for the price of the ritchey ones, and they look way cooler. Stronglight, SR, Sugino, Nervar, Zeus, Tourney, etc all made versions of them. Just hold out.

Sure, they have a cutout, but they're a completely different style. Plus they're road cranks, not track cranks.

I would go ape**** if I could find some cheap Super Mighty cranks.

keep your eye on ebay for a Campagnolo Victory crank. I got one NOS for $60. Road not track, but it's Campagnolo and has the flutes.

That's because they are old kooka cranks. Says so right on the crank.

Don't be foolish. The photo of the Kooka was my addition. I am comparing the Kooka to the OP's link.

Back in the mid 90's, you were a big pimp in the 'burbs if you rocked Kooka cranks.

The kookas look tight--I'll add it to my search pattern. . .

Man, if you judge everything on that, there is nothing left to like. During that era everything mimicked everything else to the point where it was hard to tell who started it. Do early Superbe cranks suck cause they look like campy? Zeus cranks looked like campy, but there are a ton of people who will tell you they were better.
