I got the following off of Yahoo Sports:

Simeoni set to take Armstrong to court

SEDAN, France, July 7 (Reuters) - Italian rider Filippo Simeoni says he is to take four-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong to court for alleged defamation over remarks in the French newspaper Le Monde.

"My dignity has been offended. I want a public apology. He (Armstrong) can't say what he wants and not be punished," Simeoni said on Monday.

In the interview published in April, Armstrong verbally attacked Simeoni after the Italian rider had given evidence in the continuing doping trial of sports doctor Michele Ferrari.

Simeoni, 31, said proceedings had to be instigated before July 14. The Italian, a professional since 1995, won a stage of the Tour of Spain in 2001.

Armstrong is in 10th place after the second stage of the Tour de France which began on Saturday. Simeoni's Domina Vacanze team was not given a wild card invite by Tour organisers.

Is this ridiculous or what?

I've done a few searches and can't find the interview by
Armstrong, does anyone have a link to this?

Don't know if its ridiculous or not. What did he say about Simeoni?

I don't know I've been looking for the interview
and can't find it anywhere.
Whats ridiculous to me is to take him to court.

Ok, I found something on it:

Reportedly Lance stated " ...is an absolute liar, he was doped five years before meeting Michele (Ferrari)" or something similiar.
This was in an interview back in May?.
Simeoni stated " I read the article a month ago, I waited until
The Tour to use it "as a case of resonance" (atlavista translation
I think he meant he wanted lots of exposure) ...he then indicates
he attacked Lance on his grounds The Tour de France.

All translations except the resonance thing are mine. I apologise
for my poor French and if anyone has a better idea what
all was said (and better translation) I'd appreciate it.

The guy is obviously just bitter about his team not being invited to the TDF and trying to stir up dirt.

Simeoni's Domina Vacanze team,

not Gilberto Simoni's Saeco team.

I thought Saeco turned into Domina this year (different sponsorship or something like that)

I guess if you can't attack on the bike .... you have your lawyer do it. ;)

Domina Vacanze, last year, was Acqua e Sapone.
I think they were Festina, before that, but I could be wrong.

Domina Vacanze is Mario's team. Mario was not invited. Maybe if he'd stop dropping out of races mid-way (granted, he did get injured in the Giro this year), they might invite him.
