Well, good news, my bonus from work came through. $300 to get a new fork. Ive got my eye on two, the Rock Shox Psylo XC and the Marz MX Comp ETA. The Psylo is lighter and looks more "beefier" but the Marz is, well its a Marz :D.

Psylo Specs:

The 2003 Psylo XC offers HC2 damping with a steel steerer, custom Easton Taperwall upper tubes and 80-125mm of travel.
HC2 Damping offers broad linear adjustment range with a dramatic reduction in fade. The award-winning U-TURN provides a fully external 80 to 125 mm travel adjustment system, now with 'Grippy!' surface for no-slip adjustments. Upper tube visually illustrates chosen travel

Redesigned longer crown creates a stiffer, stronger chassis. Lower leg design allows 2.7" tire and fender installation for real-world freeride potential.

Travel: 80-125 mm, U-TURN external travel adjustment
Weight: 4.25 lb
Spring: U-TURN
Damping: HC2 Adj: Rebound
Adjustments: Adjustable travel and rebound
Stanchion Tubes: Easton Straightwall, low-friction, 30mm upper tubes

Marz MX Comp ETA Specs:

- 105mm Travel (reduceable to 85mm)
- NEW Open Bath SSV Valving
- 1-side Air & 1-side Coil Spring
- NEW! Cryofit Boltless Crown
- NEW! 1-Piece Mg MonoLite Sliders
- NEW! [ETA] External Travel Adjuster
- External Preload & Internal Rebound Control
- 30mm Aluminum Stanchions

Either one are good forks.

Just a note of caution, the pic of the Psylo show a 20 mm thru axle, while the Marz shows a standard drop out.

If you get the 20 mm thru axle option, the fork will feel incredibly stiff laterally, but you'll need to get a new front hub/wheel for compatibility. That fork IS available in the standard drop-out, but not as stiff.

Personally, I prefer Marzocchi products, but have been very impressed with Rock Shocks new forks. I'm currently riding a Psylo SL on my bike.

I would go with the marz...personal preference thing. I just love the feel of marzocchis and trust them :)

I have the Marz and, I love it! Either way you can't go wrong. If I was in your shoes I would flip a coin or go by price. Congrats, what a fun decision to make.

Both are within 10 bucks of each other so price makes no difference. I went to mtbreview and read many good reviews on the marz. Then again, I like the way the psylo looks. ugh, not sure which to get.

No problem. In that case I think that majority of the people here will back up the Marzocchi. Personally, I never used either model.

I say go for the Zokki, based on looks alone, because I have no personal experience with either of the forks :D

Both my rides are outfitted with Marzocchi forks and I love em.
Don't really have much experience with psylo's.

I've ridden both, and they feel very similar.. I'd go the Marzocchi's though.

No one has the mx comp eta any more. I wanted one and tried to get one. The 2003's are sold out everywhere and marzocchi isnt shipping anymore because at some undisclosed time they are going to release the 2004's So if you want to wait untill then you can get the marzocchi. Performance bike had a deal on the MX Pro, $299, but that deal ended. I had an order in with beyond bikes for the MX comp eta, when they told me it wasnt going to come in, so they price matched the MX Pro for me, but are taking a week just to get the thing shiped. Anyway this isnt about my fork. I would say spend the extra few bucks and get the MX Pro since they are still available, but if you dont want to spend that much go for the RS fork.
