Well, I did. We had our first sit down meeting earlier to discuss goals and races. We are going to do some riding together next week as well as go over a training plan for the next few months. I'm pretty excited!

Unless there's an inside joke I'm not aware of, I think your description should refer to "Siu", not "Sui". She'd probably appreciate her name being spelled correctly.

not trying to get too personal, but how much did that cost you?

I should ask, but I assumed she was ok with the improper spelling when she used that line in her sig.

Ah, I was indeed missing some "inside" info.

Wow, that's cheaper than I thought. Maybe I should look into that...

I'm not sure the going rate here, but Keith comes highly recommended by a several of the Masters racers in the area. The price fit as well. I figure that $50 on training and coaching will go way farther than $50 in bike schwag.

I'm going to go ahead and post for PCad and save him the trouble.

Spending all your money on cool bike stuff is way more important than anything else you could possibly buy. This rule is incorrect if you are purchasing Campy parts. DA and Zipp wheels are a must.

Wow, converting from US$ to GB£ that is cheap.
Do you mind if I ask what you get for that? Emails, phone calls, plan, rides? As a coach I'd like to see how prices compare across the water. :)

What exactly does this $50 get you. THe coaching prices I've been seeing is a lot more then that.

This is a quote from the email he sent me.

1. A comprehensive monthly coaching plan for $150/month which includes:

-Up to 2 hour initial consultation/interview to assess goals and outline
yearly plan.
-Development of 12 week individual workout plan.
-Four week training schedule with adjustments as needed included to suit
schedule changes.
-Bi-weekly meetings 1hour as assessment and evaluation and one ride per
month (1 hr.) to evaluate cycling ability, pedal stroke/skills, and race
readiness/tactics.
-Weekly contact and feedback with coach via e-mail.
-Pre-race consultation.

2. Hourly option which runs $50/hour includes:

-Up to 2 hour initial consultation/interview to assess goals and outline
plan.
-Periodic 1 hour consultations as checkpoints and reviews of training to
make adjustments.
-Race and ride tactics addressed in each consult.
-Development of 12 week individual workout plan.

I feel that he has gone above the $50 level with me, maybe he feels bad b/c I'm a poor college kid.

Just ride your bike more. You don't need a coach yet...
