Hi all

First time poster, but been an eager reader for a while and have learnt a lot from this friendly place.

I had a search for the answer, so forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere.

I have a LHT with 26" wheels and Cantilever Brakes.

The little metal connecting bit on the top of the fenders that I have (SKS) does not reach the little hole on the bridge(?) without pushing up against the brake cable.....

Should I try and get a different cable so the top of the "V" sits higher or should I try and "extend" the little metal bit somehow? Would having the cable sitting higher reduce braking efficiency?

(Does all that make sense?)

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Always a problem with modern low profile cantilevers and wider fenders ,Two things that may help, first try mounting the fender tab on the front side of the fork you usually gain a couple millmeters of verticle adjustment though with some loss of tire coverage at the rear of the wheel. The other idea and what I did on my bike was to carefully heat the plastic fender with a heat gun in the cable contact area and squeeze the fender in just a little to give cable clearance. problem with using a longer straddle cable is the lower profile cantilevers is the lever has to travel farther to move the brakes to the rim. If the brakes get hot on a down hill and you run out of lever travel you could be in a world of hurt
