I hate when NASBAR ships my stuff by USPS snail mail. I worked for the USPS for 28 1/2 years before I retired and Standard 3rd/4th Class mail is sorted last and delivered when they have nothing else to do. The USPS is in the stone age when it comes to parcel delivery. I'll take UPS Ground over Fedex Ground since Fedex residential delivery uses subcontractors and I have seen them delay my package at their local office because the driver called in sick. But the USPS is in a class by themselves and have seen stuff sit for a week or more because there was no accountability for delivery of bulk mail.

Ha, that's about what I suspected when it came to packages being shipped USPS. I have just assumed that mail is their core competency and packages are better left to the professionals; the extra bucks you spend with UPS and Fedex is money well spent.

i'd sooner be car doored than use UPS, they charge us Canadians a minimum $40 (and UP) "service fee" on top of duties, on anything that is ordered from the USA to Canada.
I LOVE United States Postal Service (USPS). if your not home it gets delivered via Canada Post, no "service fees". Give us Canadians USPS!!!!

I just paid $57 CAD for UPS brokerage fees on a $390 USD frame shipped to Toronto... money not well spent. Plus there's no pick location is you missed the delivery so you either have to be at home, or leave instructions (and a check) for the delivery person.
At least for us residing north of the 49th parallel, USPS is the way to go!

I just ordered from Performance, same as Nashbar, and specified non-USPS. They mailed it out anyway. Then last week I ordered from Nashbar and included CO2 cartidges and was told absolutely it would not be mail. Well, guess what they did?
Looks like the only way to ensure no USPS is to join Performance buyer's club.

The UPS central hub in Toronto is located by York University. As a matter of fact, they are pretty much adjacent (sp?) to Black Creek Pioneer Village which backs/on U of Yorks property. Google up Black Creek Pioneer Village and you'll know how to get to the UPS depot. The UPS fees are a RIP OFF!!
I bought some books a few years ago from the US of A and the company shipped via UPS. The books costed something like $30-35 USD and I got dinged for brokerage, customs duty, GST, and PST which came out to something like $10-12 CDN on top of the shipping I paid. I was seriously wailing at UPS because they would not release any packages unless you pay thier rip off fees else they will return to sender the items which then the sender may ding you for thier wasted time.
I find UPS does not care if the item is marked a gift or not. I have been dinged either way. Give me USPS anyday.
