Mountain Biking - '06 GF Bitter v. '06 Giant STP

Good Afternoon everyone. As you can see by my post count, I am a newbie to the bike forums. I wanted to get opinions about which of these 2 bikes is better. I know each has its own qualities and concerns and before I posted, I did a search on the forums for both. Everyone seems to like the Bitter but I haven't seen anything about the STP. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!

The irony is I have never heard of the bitter and have heard lots about the stp.

My first question, have you tried both? You can make a pretty massive judgement strictly on fit and feel of the bike. I found the STP cramped for example.

I have tried both and yeah, the STP (regular size) seems a little cramped but I like the short wb. The geometry on the bitter is similar for the most part with the sloped top tube. Then again, I am the newbie and probably have no idea what I am talking about.

The stp hands down. Just as a comparison note- the STP was designed and is ridden by Jeff Lenosky, one of the best urban riders ever. The bitter isn't. It also doesn't look as nice, has a crappier fork, lower end components and just no reputation one way or the other. The bitter does have hydro brakes which is nice, but I would rather spend my mone on a bike that is considered on of the best models in its field.
As far as factory built bikes go- the STP, the Spec P series, and the chase are the best with Kona's right behind them
