Road Bike Racing - yellow jersey in prologue?

Please correct me if I am wrong here, but in '00, '01, and '02 in the prologue, lance wear his team jersey, right?

If that is true, has anyone heard anything about why this year he wore the yellow jersey (I know he has the option to wear which ever he choices to in the prologue), but I kind of liked him in the USPS team jersey. I guess I my mind it showed unite with his team.

After announcing that he would again wear his USPS jersey, he was approached by the Tour organizers and asked to wear the yellow (which this year features the monogram of the founder of the race) in honor of its centennial. He wasn't going to, but they asked, so he did.

I thought I recall him saying he wasn't going to wear it this year too (from an interview recently). I was suprised when I saw it.

thanks for clearing that up!

I read that the riders are very honored to wear the jersey this year because of the initials being on it. They probably asked LA to wear it this year, because of the significance. I liked his old philosophy. He won last year. Last year is over. You have to prove that you should wear it again this year. I hope they didnt jinx him. :)

Yeah I read I think on cycling news.com or someplace that Jean Marie leblanc asked him to wear it, so he did.
