which Stainless cage would you choose? 1, 2, or 3?

1) Delta Inox

the cheapest one at my lbsDo you always buy the cheapest product you can find, or is this just when buying a cage?

I didnt know that so much thought went into somthing you could get for free........if you asked your LBS if they were throwing any "standard" bottle cages in the garbage.

Some times the simplest answer is the best answer.

...if you asked your LBS if they were throwing any "standard" bottle cages in the garbage.Shockingly, my LBS doesn't stock any water bottle cages.

It's a MTB shop(All Mountain Cyclery). They sell boatloads of Camelbaks, but no cages and bottles.

salsa, but the cheapest one would work too.. just a bottle cageYes the cheapest part would work, but style is important too.

I never try to find the cheapest parts possible to put on my rides. Normally I try to get the best possible deal, on the parts that I like.

The Salsa cage is the one I thought would look best, but when you ask a question like this, somtimes someone suggests something that you didn't know existed.

let the guy splurge on a cool bottle cage! I never though I'd see this forum, with its chris king headsets, phil wood everything, and $100 double toe straps get so uppity about someone who wants to spend an extra $10 to get something a little nicer for his ride :p

anyway, I always choose the shiniest thing possible, so I would go with the king iris...but on your ride maybe the salsa would be a better fit.

Of those listed, #2. Nitto also makes a nice looking steel cage.

ive had 2 salsa cages break. stopped buying them. albeit they were on my MTB, but still... never had a king cage break!

to me it looks like they grind down the welds too much, leaving them weakened. the first one broke during the singlespeed world championships '06, it kinda sucked finishing the race with 2 bottles in the back of my jersey!

Maybe a Nitto would be better made, it's fillet brazed instead of welded

3. It looks like a water bottle cage. I get my cages from Bruce Gordon in Petaluma, CA. It is nearly impossible to see the welds in his cages.

I have two of the basic King SS cages, I like 'em. They hold bottles well, even 24 oz. cans!

agreeing with others, the nitto cages are also really nice. i have the touring cage on my bridgestone, it works well and looks damn good.
