and it was awesome. What a great group of people. I honestly think I will join this club too. I have associated with a MTB club but did not find them to be as personable.

I also did my first group ride today. They broke into 3 groups. I stayed with the slowest which they classified as B level. THey were a little too slow for me, will go with the B+ next week. I really enjoyed the pace line, what a difference. I didn't lead since each group had a ride leader who was always on front. I also didn't know the route we were going either. It was a little weird riding in a group, but I definitely see some good times ahead. So happy I got a road bike!

Will continue MTB on my own or with a few others at a time.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's always more fun riding with someone else, even one other cyclist.

How did you hook up with the club. Did you call one of the leaders or did you find the riding times and just show up. Ive been riding for 3 years, with myself and a handful of other guys from time to time. I would like to join a group, its tough to take that first step for me.

Great !! I've been ridin with a new group lately and it is great... I found the group I ride with dinkin around the internet one day... I was riding with a group in my area... but they were pretty cliquish... adn the new group was actually a spin off of the old group... peopel who had had enough of the old one... they usually split up into 3 groups... I ride in the middle group, and Am usually in the top 1/4 speed and endurance wise... I try to really push myself to keep up with the top dogs... and eventually i wanna move to the top group

Try this link (http://www.bicycle-rides.com/ClubLinksWI.asp) . You should find one near you. I have contacted many club members in my area via the internet. I have always found them friendly and helpful.

I found them on the internet and they encouraged none members to ride with the way things were written so I showed up. I plan on printing out the application and joining. The thing that really made me stand out was that I was one of 2 who wasn't wearing a jersey. Man those things are expensive.
