Hi, guys, I am interested in buying a vintage bike. I found a 70s Centurion super le mans. Its really clean, and ready to ride. The guy is asking $225, what do you guys think of this price? Are the super le mans frames good? Also, is it possible to put 700c wheels on a 27inch wheel bike? Thanks a lot.:)

I have seen one Centurion Le Mans and it looked like a low end bike. I can't remember if it was a "Super Le Mans" or if that makes a difference however.

Letting us know the components, tubing, and putting pictures would help.

Yes you can put 700c wheels on a 27" wheel bike. I've done it and I love the extra clearance. You might need long reach brakes if those supplied have short reach. You can get away by filling the slots a bit, or tektro makes some nice dual pivot long reach calipers

The one in sac area right? I have that exact same frame, I've never ridden it so i can't tell you anything about the ride, but it's a decent bike. The rear end is chromed, and so is the fork. The tubing isn't anything special, but it's not bike boom material. It has nice forged dropouts too. The price seems a bit high for me because I got the frame for free in a dumpster. But if it fits you and you like the ride I say go for it.

Oh, and here are the pics I snagged from the ad.

Thanks for the insight guys. I think Ill look around more. I am actually just looking for a nice frame to custom paint for the fun of it. A bike with 700c wheels would be ideal. Thanks.
