Thought I'd share my new project (very humid here and lens fogged up):

I'm going to use it to haul around my surfboard, other junk and for going to the store. Bamboo was free from my sister-in-law (different one from the b*tch I talked about in the commuting forum), $10 for the bmx wheels on craigslist, not sure how much I spend on the screws. I need to finish the bed this weekend and then figure out a way to do the hitch. Any suggestions?
Way cool. I'm gonna build one too. Just need to find the bamboo. Ain't too plentiful in Colorado.
Did you get the plans from the bamboo bicycle trailer website? It looks like it.

You can see from his picture what the hitch might look like, although I wouldn't want to use it on my best bicycle.
How did you make the drops for the wheels?

That's so beautiful, bikensurf. :) What kind of hitch are you going to go with?

This is the Carry Freedom hitch.

Yeah, I got the idea from Carry Freedom, but I didn't follow their plans. The hitch I made is from a electrical box cover plate, drilled holes in it and attached to the chainstay, attached an eyebolt to it and another eyebolt to the piece of bamboo that sticks out and then locked them together with a padlock. Seems to work right now, I did the hitch this past weekend and took it for a test ride up the street. I need to tighten everything and then I'll get some pictures up.
I saw one DIY trailer project on the web where he used a carbeaner to lock the eye bolts together.

Your bamboo trailer looks awesome. Thanks for posting the pic. How lucky you were to get free bamboo poles!
