Does anyone know where I might be able to find pink CLOTH bar tape? I've done some googling, and the only pink tape I can come up with is the cork or gel stuff.

velox does not make pink, they are the only brand I know of that makes cloth tape

I'm pretty sure that Velox isn't the only manufacturer of cotton bar tape. What about Cateye or Tressostar?

How about getting your LBS to order some for you?

RIT dye (http://www.ritdye.com/home.lasso)

They have some really fine Japanese cloth tape (better than Velox/Cateye/Tressostar) in some gorgeous colors. Pink is usually available.

If I dyed the tape would it mess up the adhesive?

yeah i imagine it might. especially since you're gonna want to rinse it well after dying (so it doesn't get pink all over your hands)
if it were me i'd probably go with pink cork or another color cloth. but if both are important to you you can always just give it a go and use some glue under the tape. worst that happens is it sucks and you wasted fifteen bucks.

hockey tape will be sticky.
Hockey tape is pretty ****ty as is but it works great under shellac. Hot pink looks good under amber shellac too.
