Road Bike Racing - Riskus - Another Doping Revelation

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well,

not sure if this guy will wimp out, but it looks like on Monday, an OP rider is about to spill his guts about doping, the peleton and even who the main protagonists are. This could be great news for those of us who care about a clean sport.

To those who still want to beleive in Santa Claus, Lance Armstrong, that the current peleton is clean and the tooth fairy, please go to the next local country practive crit race report.

Jaksche is a upper tier rider, hopefully they will take his claims seriously. We all know what happened to Siomonie (sp the guy who Lance sued) and others who have stepped forward to spill the beans. They were domestiques and not well known but Jaksche has been a winner and maybe we can finally get some closure on this issue.

Sadly. I seriously don't think thats going to happen. Just opening the can of beans a little further, I think its going to take years before it all comes out.

You are probably right, still after the T-Moble/Telekom scandal we had many confessions. Perhaps if Jaksche starts naming current riders and DS's we might see some realy action. To be honest I don't think the riders want to take these risks, they do it because they feel they have no choice in order to be competitive. I also believe that the DS's are complicit in the riders doping. I have no doubt that Riis not only knew full well what Basso was doing but was helping him. Until the men at the top are punished along with the riders this cycle with never be broken. This is why I want an amnesty period where everyone can come clean with out repercussion. As long as these guys know that there live will be ruined if they speak out then the majority will remain quiet and nothing will ever change.

Word EL De. You just have to see what happened to Zabel when he came out to see why they stay hidden.

what is this like your 3rd or 4th doping thread in 24 hours?

I hope for your sake they never clean up cycling so you still have something to post about.

3rd Doping thread. But really, only my second, and the man-woman thread was more to clarify a picture people throw out there to make us all puke.

Look - if you are interested in pro racing at all, the current doping scandals are huge. For those of us who care about the sport, we want to see the cheaters exposed, and get a cleaner (not 100%, but close) sport. It matters, since the sport is in big trouble. Serious long-time sponsors are leaving (Credit Agricole just announced) and the money is going to dry up unless they get their act together. I agree, there are other issues, but to flat out ignore it is odd?

Does the truth hurt you that much Riskus? Sorry - I like to be informed.
