This week can be summed up with a single word "FLAT". That's how I felt all last week. I had very little energy for riding so I ended up only doing one ride over the long 4th of July weekend. I did, however manage to work my butt off helping a buddy paint the interior of the house he's building :)

I did make a change on my bike that could be making a difference. I swapped out my 175mm crankset for a 170mm crankset.

I'm feeling much better this week. My commuting times are back in the 25 minute range (they had jumped into the high 26, low 27 range last week).

thanks again for the post Zack, keep them coming, i've been thinking about giving CTS a try.
does it seem like you have a decent relationship with your coach? does he/she listen to what you have to say.

My free month is just about over and I won't be extending it (I can't justify $30+ per month right now). Overall it was a good, but not great, experience.

ahh well, sorry to hear that. for $30 a month it seems like it should be a great experience :(. i'm doing mike pigg's tri-athalon training program now, it's a plugin for PC Coach. it seems pretty decent so far, but it would be nice if there someone i could ask questions, and get feedback from. i was kinda CTS might be like that.

For the most part it was a very positive experience. There were some things that I didn't like. For example my coach didn't seem to take into account the amount of time I spend commuting each day. Eventually she did cut my daily 1 1/2 hour rides down some. As it was I was riding to and from work (1 hour) and then going out and doing 1 1/2 hour rides on top of that and it was wearing me out.

Another negative was I didn't feel like I was getting personal attention like I should. On purpose I did not log my workouts for several days. I wanted to see how long it took her to notice I wasn't logging them - it took her two weeks. Perhaps this level of attention is what I should expect for $30.00 per month, who knows.

I am seriously considering working with Coach Chris out of Canada. www.coachchris.ca I have exchanged a few emails with him and he seems like a coach I can work with. I may start with him in October and work with him from Oct - Dec.
