Classic & Vintage - crashed the old Norco

The rear derailleur wrapped up in the wheel and off I went.
This is one of the bikes I was getting ready for my reunion ride next Tuesday.
I am going away for the long weekend and I am running out of time to get another bike ready.
I still have this old Nishiki which I could get parts from or service the bearings and swap tires on.

This was the last bike and I must have misadjusted the low screw.
The Norco is a better bike than the Nishiki and is the same size for one of the taller riders. It has 27 1 1/8 rims and tires but I gues the Nishikis wheels would fit.
I was going to post pics of the vintage bikes ready for the ride but all I have is sore hands now.

Sorry to hear about your incident. The Nishiki is very big. Based on the saddle height in the psoted pic, you could use a smaller frame, unless your upper body is very long, relative to your legs.

It wasn't for me, I am getting all the bikes together as the guys are flying in.
I replaced the broken spokes and straightened out the cage but the dropout is bent.
I think the right side of the rear triangle is bent also.
I have others for parts but no frame. The Nishiki is huge. The Cambio Rino is to small and I don't want to pull any parts off the museum quality Sekine. The Suteki is the same size and Japanese like the Norco but it will be a lot of work.
Is it hard to straighten chain stays?

It's simple to striaighten dropouts and re-align rear triangles. No special tools are needed. However, it can be time consuming, as it involves trial and error. If you are interested in trying it, PM me with your e-mail adsress. Several years ago I created an MS Word file with imbedded pics that goes though the process step by step. However, the file is huge. Far too big to post here.
