I am a roadie with goals of successfully completing long distance brevets and a couple of ultra distance events ie., Furnace Creek 508 and/or Finger Lakes. Ultimate goal...? An invitation to RAAM.

I recently finished the Electrician's Apprenticeship program and can now focus more on my fitness and nutrition. The challenge is balancing family life too. I have a wife and 2 kids. My son, 13, has aspirations of being a pro cyclist, hummm, where'd he get that idea? I tell him that I train hard just so that I can keep up with him in a couple more years. I am very proud of both my kids. My youngest is only 4 and is an adrenaline junkie, but has no interest in cycling, yet.

Now, to finish the local, hilly, century w/ an 18+mph average....

Hello Talarion, you are a whiz! Not to mention considerably faster than I am, but hey, I'm here to enjoy myself :D .

Good luck with your century, and I hope you get an invitation to RAAM.

Welcome to BF!

That 18+mph is a goal. For now I am at 15-16.
Thanks for reading, have a great day.

I would say with your attitude that just about anything should be possible :) .

Besides, the kids need to be able to look up to mom and dad, eh?
