Polar FS1 HRM

Speaking of heart rate monitors. I was looking at the Polar FS1 at Walmart the other day. Price was around $48 bucks and I was thinking about picking one up and trying it out.

Any opinions on this make/model HRM?

I can't say anything about that one....I wanted one a year or so ago and went with a wireless one to wristwatch style by Oregon Scientific. I'm sure the device works great, but my problem was that I couldn't fit the monitor around my chest.

I don't know how Clyde sized you are, but if you have a big chest like me (about 52"), then see if you can find out the size of the strap before time. I kinda wasted money on mine..unless I ever lose enough weight to reduce my chest size to about a size XL (maybe small 2XL).

Polar straps max out at about 56". I bought mine and had to have the wife sew on an addition section to make it comfortable. The garmin straps are huge, could probably fit a 60-62" chest on the one that came with my Edge 305. I'd say get it and if the strap does not fit, they can easily be altered or you can return it.
