CAT 4 teammate Matt finished 3rd in his race.
CAT 5 teammate Jeff finished 20th(?) in his/my race.

Lap 1= slow; Lap 2 = slow, so I took a flyer off the front just to stir things up; got caught (of course), but now everyone seems serious about racing today; race is stopped at Start/Finish line due to women's CAT 4 race crash somewhere else on the course - closed entire road; CAT 5 R1 race resumes; Lap 3 = still too much braking, but pace is up; Lap 4 = more of the same from lap 3, then a crash that I get stuck behind; pack is gone as I get started again; TT to the finish on my own, catching only one other rider in the process. Results have me finishing 27 of 28, but I could have sworn there were more riders than that behind me. What happend to the ones in the crash? I'm sure that they didn't catch up and pass me.

Btw, it was great conditions for a road race. I had a great time even if my results aren't that great. I enjoyed catching everyone asleep during my attack.

That is all.

sounds like good times. I wish I had made the trip down for that race. Note to self: stop doing anything but racing bikes.

no, as the guy in the crash we were counted. It was a great day weather wise, some people just did not know how to hold a line. I got swept up going around a turn. Front and back wheels taken out. Stuck around and did the second race though, that was a ton of fun. Only 18 of us, so just a blast. I hope the woman who went down and stopped the race is ok. The killer there, is right before they stopped it 5-6 of us had just gotted out on a break (after they caught me on my own attack) my legs were feeling good, but the long stop just killed me. Fun time, cannot wait for the next one

Oh, and after reading your post again, there were 41 riders in that group, so don't worry about your placing, we were behind you

NoRacer - did you have that blue and black jersey on yesterday? If so I think I saw you cross the line as I was watching the finish of the cat5 races.

As great a course as that was, there were crashes in almost every race. I did the cat4 race and a few guys went down on the back side where the road was straight and flat, I'm told some dude decided to pass on the right side hit some gravel then moved left into the pack taking a few riders down. Then in the sprint a couple guys right in front of me went down and I had to crash into the field to avoid running over them.

Great day and great course, not sure why there were so many crashes. I heard that lady was pretty banged up but was moving her legs when they were loading her in the ambulance. Hopefully she was ok.

No, Team BBC's race kit jersey is pink. There were three of us there, but two of us are CAT 5. I had a pink and grey helemt on to match my kit and I ride a Giant TCR C2.
