Wasn't sure where to put this post. But since i was planning to do a fixed gear conversion on this frame then I decided to put it up here. These are just some camera phone pics because my real camera is back at my San Jose apt. But here, tell me what you think. Yes, I know the pics are crappy. And yes i painted over the bottom bracket but ill be changing it.

Very nice. Clearcoat? Maybe red outline the lugs? Still a great job.

The only thing im probably keeping is the frame. The headset was super rusty before i painted it.
Yeah its clear coated about 4 coats and I tried to sand out some of the imperfections with 1500 grit sandpaper.

Also I wanted to ask a quick question. Besides a new wheelset, cranks, pedals, chain ring, seat post/seat, and a cog what else would i need for the conversion?

What paint you use? Anything I need to know if I want to paint over a black powder coat? I'm thinking of giving it a light coat, so scratches/damage will show up as black.

You're going to want a new bottom bracket too if you are getting new cranks, the one you have in there (and painted) is for cottered cranks.

Sorry, but I can't say I approve.

- That you didn't even disassemble the bike shows a serious lack of patience. -3
- no stripping of original paint -2
- no masking -2

I've seen rattlecan paintjobs that looks professional. This is not one of them. :(

This thread can be closed now. JeffS has given us his papal decree.

Well first off,

I would have disassembled the whole thing but since i'm a noob at cycling i lacked the tools and the knowledge. But I will be replacing the parts i painted over because they were crap to begin with. I did strip the original paint so +2... And also i never said i was trying to make this look professional so don't knock me for that. It was simply a little project because I found a frame and was bored. And this is the first time I have ever attempted something like this. But thanks for the constructive criticism.
