I got this new Carbon fortified road bike, rides nicer that the plain aluminum, but the dealer tells me I can't hang luggage racks on it. Well, true I want to keep it light and fast but a truck bag would be nice.
Any thoughts?

I have a rack that clamps to the seat post claims to hold 30lbs, but it states that it must not be carbon seat post either. Maybe get a second seat post if yours is a carbon seat post I have seen them as cheap as $25 online.
A bag that attaches to the handlebars or directly to the saddle (not the seatpost) should be perfectly safe. Nashbar.com seems to have more than 20 bags like that. If it's a small bag you want, that seems like the solution but if you want big bags it's not the way to go.

Take a look at the Carradice Super C and Camper Longflap (http://www.wallbike.com/carradice/camper.html) as well.
I fell in love with a carbon road bike when I test drove it. Bought it. Got it home. What? No way to add fenders and rack? Unbelievable. So I did the handle bar bag. Later when those seat post clamp racks came out I added that too. My racer friends at the time called me a dork or geek or something derogatory for having crap hanging from a nice bike. Well being slow was enough for their derision but having a detachable handle bar bag allowed bonus slurs.
You can probably bolt DIY things to the water bottle holders, it probably has two one on the down tube and one on the seat tube. I remember stuffing small things in the standard water bottle cage on occasion.
Also, as pedex always points out you can get a lot of stuff in a messenger bag.

Well a plastic bike (carbon fibre is actually carbon fibre reinforced plastic), is like your fancy pants sports car, fast, fun, but not very practical. If you want to carry a load, then a steel frame touring bike is your best bet, nothing to say you can't have both.:D

I thank you all for your comments, I wish I had a cold drink I could send yall over the net.
I am going to do all the things suggested at one point or another, but tonight I hooked up the Nashbar Cargo Trailer to the Hard Rock and towed 36LBS of junk home from the store, Soda(2liters) Milks(Gallons) and Gatorades and that heavy loaf of bread.
I have 3 bikes, so each time I go I will decide which one is best.
That carbon thing is sure a lot faster though.
