The Schwinn Prelude I just picked up is pristine - except for the San Marco suede saddle. After my initial revulsion I took a closer look. It has a tear that may be glued back down and is basically soiled.

Does anyone have an handy hints on how to restore / clean the saddle? The one on my (sold) Premis was actually nice for shorter (< 20 mile) rides.

Shoemakers recommend glycerin soap, water and a nailbrush. Wash, rinse and dry. I haven't tried it, but if my suede saddle gets dirty, I think I would follow their advice.
