Velodrome getting publicity in the mainstream press?
And actually represented accurately?
It seems like there's a catch.

And this is the video that goes with it... in case you miss the microscopic link in that print story.

Great video. That track is loud when the bikes zoom past. They don't mention that you need to keep at least 15 mph, or you will slide down the track.

We only tell you that AFTER you slide down the track.
FYI, the lowest speed I've done on it is 11.98mph.
And that "loud" thing is the rumble of the lumber. Ain't no better sound.

That's probably only real disappointing thing about ADT-- you can't get underneath the track to hear the rumble as the bikes go over.
And the hike to the bathrooms...

Tried out the velodrome on Saturday since it's free rental/entry for n00bs. It was pretty cool...sorta nerve racking since it seems so unnatural to ride on an incline like that.
I'll probably go back again because I missed out on learning how to ride in a paceline and stuff like that since I had to leave to meet up w/a friend. Another thing I realized...I'm hella out of shape. Gotta start using the spin cycle @ the gym a bit more.

Love that track.. I'm planning on getting out there with my new track bike sometime soon. I've only been once last year. You might remember me as the kid with long hair and no kit (shorts+t-shirt) who fell at the last bend. I was there with my dad, a friend, and his dad.
Good times.

I like that track. Lots of fun. Just needs more racing than madisons.
