Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - how should I attatch this?

So, If I have no brakes on my fixie, how in the world should I attatch a cycling computer on it? I know its all "fixies are the most stripped down" and stuff, but sometimes I just want to know how far I've gone, or how fast I'm going.

i don't have a cyclocomputer, but wasn't aware that you needed brakes in order to use one...
i thought you put some magnets on the fork and a spoke with a wire that runs to a computer attached to the bars...

Circle the slack and tie it, or twist-tie it or whathaveyou, then run the length you need down the fork and so on, get that attached and all. At the top, tape some of the slack either on the handlebars or the stem to get it closer. That's the best you can do.

I got one w/ an extra long cord and run it on the rear wheel. Did this for the rare times I ride the trainer so I can get some useful info.

FYI-you can attach cyclometers to the frone if you ride rollers.:D
But I guess some of us prefer the mag trainers...I personally do not. To each their own.

...or you could just run a front brake...lot of people do and i'm sure no one would look down on you if you did, and those who would look down on you aren't worth talking to anyway.

I often wish I could find one of those old mechanical odometers that mounted on the fork at the dropout.

I use my polar hrm. It has a wireless speed transmitter that attaches to the front fork, and a cadence transmitter that attaches to the downtube. You then put the magnets on the wheel and crankarm.

I have two bikes setup like this so I can just transfer the hrm to whatever bike I feel like riding that day. All I do is move the watch from bike to bike.

I like to record all my rides and save them on the computer. this is a very easy way to do it.
