Maybe again if justice prevails the lady with the vandalized car and the police will put 2 + 2 together and come knocking on your door again. How old are you anyhow? This is my last comment to a joker who posts messages bragging about his stupidity as if he were 12 years old.
You know what... stop being stupid and stick to the subject. You want to start a flamewar over the fat lady incident... fine... just do it in the right thread.
I'm glad this is your last comment because you've gone so far off topic and instigated a flame war in a thread which has nothing to do with the reason why you're pissed off at me in the first place. Hopefully this thread will clean itself up and we can discuss this situation which is very different from the other one.
Take your personal vendetta where it belongs. As far as I'm concerned you're the one acting like a 12 year old by starting flame wars where they don't belong.

Richard,
We may be a bit on the cautious side, but publishing plates really serves no purpose here. And sadly, it's been far more common for us to see the words "If you see this ****ing ******* of a ****" accompanying the plate and vehicle description, along with suggestions of actions that should be taken against the driver. Not really what we want to promote.
Cheers,
Brian
Well maybe not the suggestion of actions but isn't warning BF members in a certain area to keep an eye out for a specific driver a good thing?
Example: In Canada we have a program that anyone caught for DUI has their name published on websites, newspapers and so on so people are aware of DUI offenders. Of course the real purpose behind this is to embarras a DUI offender in public but it also exposes people with drinking problems who might not get help for their problems on their own.
Wouldn't the same thing work for dangerous drivers as well?

We were talking about a crime. You committed a crime that you even boasted about as if you were proud. You fail to see the irony in this?

What I fail to see is what this has to do with this thread. There's another thread on that exact subject and any discusssions about that incident really belong over there, not here.
This thread was hijacked a long time ago and has gone completly off-topic. Read the original post and tell me how this is relevant. Then go into the "other thread" and read the original post, you'll quickly see how half of the garbage in this thread belongs over there.

Not when you're giving out traceable information on an alleged criminal. For all you know the person was borrowing the car, (or it was a rental). Think about it, if someone got ahold of the information and "did something about it" not knowing that the vehicle really didn't belong to the accused and that the person driving has nothing to do with the incident you'd feel pretty damn ******.
Posting the name of someone who was arrested is different than posting the license plate of their sister's car.
Raiyn, I concur. It could be as simple as getting the wrong plate number. Either way, we will not have that on the forums. It's not like someone would really be on the lookout for that plate, cyclists have enough to worry about already.
The guys on the Subaru forum that I visit would have turned this over to the local police along with your IP and any other information that would be valuable...
They have Subaru forums?
They have Subaru forums?
Oh yeah :) one of the larger public forums on the Internet and they don't like street racers...
Good job to the OP for calling the cops on the hit n run but bragging about committing a crime on the Internet is a bad idea. Its not as anonymous as some would like to think.

IPs are useless when you're HTTP tunneling. Just so you know. ;)
ahhhh---you kids with your cute slang!
You can't be a literate internet user and not have a healthy understanding of its lingua franca. ;)
even if they find the car, the woner can say he wasn't driving unless somoene can ID him.
Similar thing happened to me and the ahole said "someone must have stolen the car, crashed it into me, then put it back in the lot"...long story short I sued him, he refused to pay, I have a lien on his house, but haven't seen a dime
