Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. PLEASE ANSWER TWO OR MORE OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS. THANK YOU.

In the past there have been several threads about the type of work that folks do, and it seems to me that technical and electronic employees are highly represented in this biking forum. However, to my knowledge it has never been summarized nor has this hypothesis actually been tested.

So, one more poll. I hope I have included all the major job categories. Sorry if I missed yours. You will need to check more than one answer, as I have included employee/self-employed/unemployed categories. If I missed you, please show your work type in a follow-up message.

Thanks. I am awaiting the results with anticipation.

I didn't read your instructions before voting and only selected one box - "I don't work (retired, unemployed, etc.)"
I should also have selected "When I work(ed) - Technical, computer , engineer".
That's the problem with a lot of technical folks, they rush right in without following directions.

If you look at my profile it reads, "Unemployed Radiology Engineer (30 years), but I'll take whatever job I can get if the pay is good."
F**king age discrimination! :crash: :fight: :crash:

Until I find another job :roflmao:  :roflmao: I'm a house-husband and full time cyclist. It's really tough getting up every day knowing that the highlight of the day is going out for a 25-35 mile ride. :D

I'm a Construction Project Manager, so not really manual labor, more technical as I am involved in the planning, design, and construction phases.

I also work part-time as a bicycle mechanic, so I did vote for "manual".

The poll was doomed from the beginning. Everyone know us engineers don't read directions.

In other words, no, I didn't read them either.

Now that I understand you enjinurs and tecchie types don't read directions, I now know why I am having so much trouble with the restore disks for my computer. You don't read them, so you don't know how to write them!!

Anyway, if I could edit the poll, I would place "see questions below" for each of the 1st 3 questions.

Reminds me of the worksheet I use in my class which starts out:

"Read all directions before starting this worksheet."

Then there is a list of 10 horrendous things you must do, and instruction 11 reads:

"11. Disregard all of the above instructions, put your name on the paper, and turn it in to the teacher."

That is not strictly true. Many techno-geeks don't read directions but there is a strong subset of techno-geeks that are compulsive documentation readers. I followed the directions and I am a systrem engineer, formerly a sys-admin.
