Hi,
I want to try a new protein powder called Whey Fraction.

Basically I got a late start on the season. I am going to kick the training into high gear soon, and I am looking to maximise the effect. This new whey stuff looks like it will help with the healing.

I am looking to make something I can take before I go to the gym, and after I ride.
I'll just use less after the ride.

I was thinking
50% Whey Fraction
10% PeptaPro (predigested protein)
20% Casein
20% Oat Muscle (low glycemic carbs)

Looking for suggestions, I could add a banana for carbs, and throw in more casein to replace the Oat Muscle. I could also add 5% glutamine peptides. Any bodybuilder/riders out there with
a thought on the subject?

You don't say what you're trying to accomplish, but that's likely way more protein than you need.

The guys at the Protein Factory are most likely experts at this. Don’t they offer consulting services or have a pre-made formula that will suit your needs?

Hmmm...I buy Whey Protein at CostCo for less than half the price you're paying at proteinfactory...I think the CostCo whey is around $28 for 6 lbs. Hard to believe proteinfactory is worth that much.

There are several different kinds of whey. They have the stuff you use for $4.30 a pound plus shipping. As the protein content goes up the price tends to go up. Whey fraction is a process that doesn't remove or destroy some of the desirable protein sub-fractions.

My usual comment to people is protein is protein is protein. I have typed that here a hundred times. But if you are riding the edge of overtraining, a little extra
help is nice.

From any research i've done on whey protein , those with the best profiles of sub-fractions are the ones with lower protein concentration. Most of the processing to get the highest possible protein content, and with it the corresponding highest price, have many of the desirable sub-fractions processed out.

Thank you. A lot. That confirms some things I have long suspected.
One of my little tricks is to eat a half a protein bar just before the workout,
and the other half immediately after. It's not really enough protein, but
it helps. A shake would be better, but that usually isn't possible.
