Classic & Vintage - Date codes on Campy old Record crank arms

Hi, I might need to find a "CSPC compliant" crank arm set and would like to know if anyone knows the date code used by Campy in the 80s. I know that the number in a diamond was for the 70s, but don't know the 80's identifying mark. Was it a circle??

That's strange. I found this from a Campagnolo timeline site:

Some Campagnolo parts can be dated by codes or patent dates. For example, the Nuovo Record rear derailleur has a patent date that corresponds to its manufacturing date starting in 1970 (example "PAT. 70"); marked "PATENT" before 1970. The lock nut on the hub axle typically is stamped with "CAM. 60" or some other number denoting the last two digits of the year of manufacture. The word "RECORD" was added to the hub barrels around 1963. The original "Open C" style Campagnolo logotype (imagine a U turned on its side) on the Q.R. levers was changed to a "closed C" in 1958 with the introduction of the one-piece alloy Record hubs and a little later to the shift levers. Starting in 1973 the crank arms have a code consisting of a diamond (1970's), circle (1980's), square (late Super Record), with a number in the center denoting the last digit of the year of manufacture (some exceptions:11=1985, 22=1986, 33=1987 plus others).

That would make your cranks dates 1990 ???

however the notation that late super record manafacture was in a square further confuses the issue, especially since Super Record parts were last made in 1987 according to the same site:

It wouldn't matter except that I found out the hard way that a super record front dreailleur with the "safety lip" won't clear my 1973 record crank arms!!!

oops, sorry, I just looked again with a loupe and a flashlight in my basement; it an 11 in a square, but original to the bike. I bought it new, 1984, definitively not 85. Nothing has been changed but the bar tape, seat, freewheel and tires.

I picked up this information from a website specalizing in selling NOS Campagnolo gear.

From 1958 - 1972 Record crank arms were not dated on their back side
From 1973 - 1979 the year of crank manufacture is the last digit in a diamond
From 1980 - 1984 the year of crank manufacture is the last digit in a circle
"11" in a rectangle means 1985, "22" means 1986, and "33" means 1987.
