All,

I've been nursing a bad ankle sprain for the last two weeks but luckily for me it's good enough to walk-on. That's a good thing since I'll spending 10 days in Paris with my girlfriend, her daughter and niece starting this Thursday. Anyhow, part of the vacation will be to stop by Compienge (sp) for the ending of Stage 3. So, if you'all want any trinkets from Paris or le Tour let me know... Most of our sightseeing will be concentrated in Paris(Sites, Shopping, Foods) as well as Normandy (D-Day beaches) and Beligum (Chocolate & Beer). If her daughter and niece weren't coming along, we'd probably go down to Provence and check out the region, besides doing a ride up Mt. Ventoux, but I did not want to subject them to that sort of thing. Next time...

Au Revoir,

Ian in SD

Would a couple of French maids be too much to ask for?

Thanks for the kind offer. Pick up one of these trinkets if it's not too much trouble

55cm, but I'm not fussy about the color.

Phil, I hate to break this to you, but they're not really French.

That is okay, as long as there is at least two of them and they arrive wearing those outfits I think that I can forgive them for not being French...

In fact, I have had enough of unwashed bodies for a while, so maybe non-French French Maids is better...

Hey Ian, I'll miss you by about 4 days. I'll be in the south riding through the Pyrenees. I'll be riding the Col d'Aubisque and roads leading up to it about 5 days before the tour comes through.

Hope they have all the merchandise set up a few days early :)

Paris is one of my favorite places on the planet. There's a lot of walking, so take care of the ankle!

Ah, I've always wanted to do that sort of thing, either the Etape or a cycling tour but I just don't think I'm ready for something like that yet. I want to be able to enjoy myself- suffer but also enjoy, day after day, I just don't think I have the endurance or power to pull that off. Hopefully in a couple of years. This trip will be more of a 'let see france' sort of trip. We took in Italy 2 years ago and that went really well but without the teenagers, so this will be interesting - 10 days in France with teenage girls.

I've just been busy... nursing my ankle, getting a new car (car accident totaled my Mazda), training a new team member to hopefully cover my duties while I'm away and getting this trip organized... just busy. Once I get back though, it'll full on again. Besides, I gotta try out some new gear...

How 'bout some Tour de France t-shirt or something? Whatever size fits a 5'8" skinny dude.

Sorry to hear about your Mazda.

Hope you have a great trip.

Have fun Ian. Are you going to see any of Le Tour when you are there?
