Finally, an aftermarket, alloy, folding, complete, telescopic quill/handlepost. Available in common sizes from Neobike "as agent". (DT sells the lower half of an alloy, folding handlepost that fits DT bikes, and Dahon also sells "lowers" for its bikes, but the Sunzone part is a complete system and available in different diameters.)
Tangent #1:
The latest bikes from Neobike.

Note the "More folding bikes" hyperlink in the top blue bar leads to the older products.
Looks like the new lineup has some strong challengers.
The Lynx weighs 8.8 kgs (the Mu SL weighs 8.7 kgs ... "lightest production folder" by 100 grams?). The Lynx RD is SRAM X.0 (the Mu SL is SRAM X.9). The maintube on the Lynx is small, but U6 aluminum alloy is much better (stronger and also more fatigue resistant) than 6061. Dahon uses U6, but only for Al forks. http://www.dahon.co.uk/framematerial.htm
Neobike must really like the "popular" rear swingarm design. Take a look at the Neobike Maverick and its swingarm rear sus. Twin coil spring rear sus. Very nice looking folding pedals. Specs say disk brakes, but the pix are V-brakes.

Neobike's license to make Bromptons for the Pacific market expired in 2002. Neobike began to import Bromptons into Europe and was busted for copyright infringement of Brompton's design. For background on that, see

Neobike Europe's website no longer shows its Brompton clone.

So, does anyone know if Neobike makes the Merc?
Tangent #4:
I will be in Taipei in October. I will not be able to resist the Maverick if it has disk brakes and the fork doesn't do spinal and wrist damage. Maybe I can get the Lynx U6 fork on a Maverick.
