Electric Bikes - E bikes

Ok you experts. I found out I'll be doing the big loop into work vs the short one I do now. Interested in an E bike because I will be dragging lotsa weight (panniers) to and from work up very steep hills. I ride daily but don't want to be covered in a TT like sweat when I get in.

What E bike currently out most emulates a road or mt bike(off the power). I can probably plug in from work and round trip is 20 miles.

The answer depends largely on what you want to spend. If you're the 'technical' type, there are all kinds of modification paths that can be taken to make a bike meet or exceed your needs. Take a look at these places and come back and discuss what appears to look good to you. Good luck!

A Bionx system would work real good. I use it on my mountain bike and it's pretty fast, when you pedal in assisted mode, and you don't break a sweat. Hils aren't really an issue. You'll still have to downshift to your lowest gear but you can keep your butt on the seat on the way up.

Bionx doesn't have all that much torque so you'll have to pedal going uphill. Especially if you're hauling weight.

20 miles isn't an issue with Bionx, even in assist 34 I've found my 36V system goes much further than that. In assist #1 it'll go a lot farther.

Thanks, how long to recharge? I can charge at work.

3 hours max for a full charge. I barely go down to 60% so it recharges in about 1-1/2 hours at the office.
