Is anyone here planning to ride the Tour de l'Alberta?

Thinking about it pretty seriously! I just have to figure out how to get myself & the bike up there. I also have quite a bit of work to put in on the road bike beforehand, but if that does not work out my backup plan is Sir Lancelot and the shorter route.

I found a bike shop that will work with me on the old road frame, so progress there. (Two shops told me to buy a new bike. $#^&%*s).

I've signed up! :)

I was talking to one of the club members on the weekend and it sounds like it should be a really good event.

How's your bicycle coming along Buglady?

She has new brake pads and she is shifting better! She won't have new bar-end shifters till after this event, so I have to practice not killing myself with the downtube shifters for now :p I also have to practice with the toe clips, again with the not killing myself... it's a bit of a theme...

Will you be there Buglady, and if so, how will I recognize you among the crowd? :)

Anyone else?

I'm afraid I can't get there this year... a cheque I was counting on hasn't come in, and some extra work DID come in that I will have to complete by Monday (I'm sewing some custom nets for a biology company that does stream sampling and environmental monitoring. Kind of neat work but they do have a tendency to want things at the last minute).

Are there any rides in August/September?
