Texas - Groups in Northeast Houston

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hey folks,
I'm a newbie, and am looking for a group to ride with in Northeast Houston (I'm in Humble). I can't seem to find anything on the internet; anyone know of any groups who would be willing to take a new guy under their wing? If not, are there any other loners up here who are looking for someone to ride with?
Cheers,
Greg

There are several informal group rides and at least one formal group.
Saturday Mornings starting from the QLS Athletic Club parking lot on West Lake Houston at about 7:00am is a group -several ability levels -cover 30 to 50 miles. They also ride on Sunday and several day during the week.
Also a group starts from the Starbucks at Towncenter in Kingwood - same time.
There's the Kingwood Clippers that ride from various points. They may have a contact on the Bicycle Texas website.
The Kingwood Tri Club has some afternoon rides east of Lake Houston.
You might check the local bike shops for more info.

Thanks for the info. I used to be a member at QLS... am I wrong to assume that that ride is for QLS members? If it's open to the public, I'd like to join it because that's closest to me (I'm in Eagle Springs).
What are your opinions on the Bike Source/Bike Werks shop at Town Center?
Greg I'm in Humble as well and usually do some medium-length rides (50 miles, give or take) on Saturday and Sunday. I'll send you a P.M. with my contact info and you would be welcome to ride along if you like.
This weekend I'll be doing just a short ride on Saturday 'cause the Katy Flatlands century is on Sunday.

Newbie-ish Cyclist here living in Humble/Atascocita, also interested in more information on this subject. Getting my allez elite in next week.. currently doing 30-40 mile rides and 10 miles every morning. Never biked in a group before - is the QLS thing open to the public?
Let me know! I'm tired of always cycling alone.
