I have an 02 GF Marlin with Shimano Altus crank, not sure which BB it has. Which specialized tools would I need to get this stuff off for maintenance and internal cleaning??

If you want to take the crank arms off, you will need a crank puller for square taper spindles. These are around 12 bucks.
