Is there anywhere that I could look at a parts schematic for my 87 Paramount? I need some help getting it back together. The guy had the controls, cables and derailer off and I am not sure how they go back.
Thanks for any help.
Or if someone would have some time to help me through email and pics it would be great.
Thanks again,
Doug

There is no parts schematic for a Paramount--nor any bike. (Even if there were, the Paramount was sold as a frameset only in 1987, so, no parts.) What you need is a bicycle repair guide that will walk you through the installation and adjustment of components on a bicycle. I recommend ZINN AND THE ART OF ROAD BIKE MAINTENANCE by Lennard Zinn. Available at most bookshops or Amazon.

What you REALLY need is a bike mechanic to rebuild the bike for you. Although bicycle mechanic'in' isn't hard work, there is a fair amount of art in the practice. I'd MOST recommend you to go to your local bike shop and have it put back together and adjusted, particularly if you have little experience in the matter.

There's no shame in it, and a LOT less pain and frustration down the road.

You may also want to contact a local bicycle club for useful hitns and abvice. Another option is to look at some other bikes for general "what goes where" visualization, which you can fine-tune by reading and posting questions in the mechanicals forum.

Start with the brakes, then the rear derailleur, then the gear control levers, and finally the front derailleur.
