I'll be visiting SLC pretty soon. I'm told there is a big steakhouse kind of restaurant with a bunch of covered wagons in circles in it, and fires to cook marshmallows. I heard it was in a warehouse type of building.
Anyone know the name of the place and what city it is in?

I think it was called the Chuck Wagon. It is on Vine Street in Murray, across from the city cemetery, at about 5700 south. It closed a couple of years ago, was supposed to re-open as something else, never did, changed hands again and is supposed to re-open as something else again, I don't know what. Went there once, kind of cutesy, I thought. Drugstore cowboys and cowgirls everywhere.
Yeah, that place is closed. There are a couple similarly themed restaurants up north in the Ogden area. Let us know if you want some recommendations.
I can't believe that place closed down. It was always packed. 2 companies I've worked for had big parties there.

There is a great restaurant in Ogden Utah named the Prairie Schooner that has tables inside of covered wagons. Ogden Utah is only about 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City. I have eaten there and the food was great. Their website is www.prairieschoonerrestaurant.com . Enjoy the Utah biking scene, it's awsome!!

It think it was actually called Wagonmaster and it was located in Murray Utah. I didn't know they closed down. http://utah.citysearch.com/profile/10380765/

Yeah, that's the name! It's been closed a couple of years, Desert Star Playhouse was going to open there, never did. Dunno what's happening there now, if anything.

All the covered wagon motif has been removed from the outside and a new company has moved in--something Simulators or Simulations. They could stand to plant a few trees around the building--looks kind of bleak.
I think this place in Ogden might still have covered wagons:
