Greetings,

just thought I'd say hello; my wife and I will be tandem owners this weekend; a KHS Alite. We have been borrowing it for a couple weeks and have enjoyed it (although physically we're weak yet - Clyde & Athena)
Maybe we'll name the bike Clydthena, anyway I've been reading the forums for the past six months and this site and Sheldon Brown's have helped me tremendously.

Welcome! Sounds like you took a good route. Since you've been borrowing it and have been researching and riding some you should be a great team. Keep going!

Hi, Perry & April

I'm an Athena, so I know where you are starting from. I ride my tandem (Trek T900) with a trailer bike attached with my 5 yo twins so we can get out in the fresh air and I know they will not be wandering into traffic. On July 4 we rode about 10 miles to and from the local children's parade and picnic (yes, we rode our bike train in the parade!). I aspire to toss around numbers like 50 and 100 miles as casually as most of the active members on this forum, though.

Hey, we can toss around 50 and 100 miles. Just not while riding the tandem...:p

We are very enthusiastic, just not really into great distances.

Yeah, right now we're lucky when we make 5 miles; no riding in the near future for us though; stoker managed to find a flu and my hoof's sore like a bruise for the past couple days. -- That's ok though supposed to hit 93º this weekend.
