i took it out for a quick spin around the fair city of boston and holy crap did i not realise how much i missed it!!!
i strapped on my courier bag —which has my tools in it— put on my sweatshirt and headed from my house in allston down to the commons (a little over 3 miles), and swooped around a few of the streets down there for about 15 minutes, then gunned it straight home with the goal of getting back in 15 minutes. i made it in 10, and that includes having to slow down for sketchy intersections and actually stopping at one point at a SUPER sketchy intersection. i managed to only run two or three red lights the whole way, but it was really late and i checked for cross traffic AND cops. most of the time the cops here (in boston) don't care anyway.
the route is a very gentle uphill most of the way with one medium downhill and then one medium climb right at the end that got me a little winded, but it was over in about 100 yards...not really a climb, but still....WOW I LOVE THIS BIKE!!!
the wheels i got are all black (even the braking surface of the rim) and really suck light into them. i've got it leaning against a wall right now and it's like a black hole, cause the bike is dark dark purple with all black parts on it. STEALTH, BABY!!!
