- check out some of the charity rides... i know there have been a few DC->Annapolis rides... but getting all the way out would be interesting (don't ever recall seeing any riders 10+ years ago)...

<sigh> it's been a long time since i spent some time at Rehoboth (loved the Cultured Pearl) and Dewey Beach (Mama Maria's pizza is the best!)

Here is a ride that gets you to the Bay bridge.

From there the biggest potential issue is getting over the bridge. I don't know if there is any service to get you across the bridge. You could call MDOT 1.866.713.1596 and ask.

Once on the eastern shore, there are plenty of smaller roads so it shouldn't be hard to find an acceptable route. Once off the main highways, most of the eastern shore is full of your standard 2 lane roads with a decent shoulder.

Depending on your timing I would also be happy to throw your bike on my rack and drive you over the bridge. I don't live down that way anymore, but every friday I take our kids down to my parents for the day and work from there (mobile work is so handy). They live in Cape St. Claire, which is the last exit before the bridge.

The June issue of Chesapeake Magazine had an article about a ride from Baltimore through Annapolis with a shuttle across the bridge and down Rt. 50 to OC. This could give you some ideas how to map out your ride.

There is a service that will take you and your bike over the bridge. My father in law just hitchhiked when he got to the bridge.

Im planning on riding from DC to Bethany Beach once I recover from in injury and I was going to ride 50 to 404 to 113 to 26. This is the route my father in law took and I drive it several times a year and seems like it would work well
