View Full Version : Brazilian Bike
My bike, a typical medium quality brazilian bike... I gotta put some acessories in it, but it's not all that bad :)
Enjoy:

These tires will probably make you laugh, but they're cool for me :)
Next week I'm going to travel for a bigger city (I live in a small city, without much choice for bicycle stores) and I'm gonna get something for my bike... Any suggestions?
I need to put that thing (Rotor, in portuguese) that makes that other thing (Guidão, in portuguese) that we hold and use to make turns, so that I can make barspins... Not that I can make barspins, but that's a cool thing to have installed :)
PS: Sorry for my bad vocabulary, I'm from Brazil, and I don't have any dictionary in my home... Actually I have, but this doesn't interest you :)

That's a rather interesting bike. I'm guessing you want what you call a "gyro" if you are talking about barspins and such.

And Bars, is what you hold, short for handlebars. There really is no need for a gyro, just look for a long brake cable that can be spun for a couple of barspins. I would suggest to remove that front brake because that means that you won't be able to do barspins, no gyro works with a front brake. Also, get rid of that stand haha.
The dumbass of the store putted the stand without my permission... I need to take some minutes to get rid of it... Gyros don't work with front brake o.O? I like the front brake, because I use the bike to ride aorund the city, go to places... But that stand really sucks (:
What do you think I can put in the bike? I wanna trade the brakes (the part of the brake that goes on the handlebars :) ), because they hurt my hand o.O
By the way, what's the name of these things?

Now I'm going downtown with my bike... I really wanna spend my money with it, so you guys could help me about choosing something USEFUL (beautiful too :) )to put on it... But something that I can find in Brazil o/
PS: No more stand :)

wow! thats a big gap! And what you wanna change with the brakes that is called a BRAKE LEVER or HANDLE. besides that, if you want new parts, you can get 3 peice cranks because 1 peice are weak.
Hmm... Gaps hold the pedals, so?
I wanna change my Gaps (if it's what I thinking...), my Brake Lever, maybe I'll put a gyro, and I need some better inner tubes...

It's a 1" threaded stem. It's supposed to have a gap.
Hey guys, stop confusing me... Is gap that thing that I pointed in the last picture? What's stem???
Sorry for my bad vocabulary, I'm from Brazil, and yes, I use google... But it's better to have the right answers from you guys...

Yes, the gap is what you pointed to. A stem is what holds your bars in a place.
Is this a gap or a stem? http://www.doctorbike.com.br/aplica/enviaimagem.asp?imgNome=mesa_pro_x_flat_pta.jpg&width=160

And what's a quill stem?What's a gap?
A quill stem is a 1" threaded stem instead of the more common 1 1/8" threadless stem that is used on bmx bikes now. To tell the diffrence between the two: a quill stem goes down into the fork and is held place by a wedge and bolt, a threadless stem clamps directly to the top of the fork and is held in place with ussually two allen bolts. The "gap" they are refering to is just the fact that threadless stems have no space between the actual stem and the headset and a quill stem has a gap between the stem and the headset where the quill shows. A gap is not a bike part it is a space between two objects. Like the space between your stem and your headset or the space between a ledge and the ground or the space between your two front teeth. If you had a dictionary or an online translator it woujld be alot easier for us to help you.
