There are so many different lubs for chains, what is the "Best"?
I have always liked the teflon based lubricant's for their durability. I use Triflow. It works.

I like finishline teflon (the red cap) for summer use on and off road.

I use Kry Tech wax lube, but I'm considering going back to "dry" style oil.

Prolink or Pedro's Road Rage. The oily stuff (like Finish Line) gets all black and greasy too quickly and the waxy stuff gets gummy and starts to squeak after about 100 miles.
Another vote for Finish Line Teflon.

I just started using Triflow after a lot of recommendations... and so far I like it... also used White lightning, and Finishline Teflon... both pretty good... whitelightning is hard to get off the chain.. leaves a funky wax film

I use Pedros Extra Dry chain lube. Works pretty good.

Right now I'm using Finish Line Teflon. I've used Tri-flow and White Lightning in the past.
The Teflon lubes seem to work pretty well -- I think the most important thing is to keep good care of the chain. After each ride, wipe all the grimy stuff off, drip lube onto the pivots, let it sit for a few minutes or "work it in" by pedaling backwards. Then wipe off the excess with a rag.
This seems to keep the chain well-lubed without attracting lots of dirt and grit. Remember - it's the lube on the inside of the chain that counts. Excess lube on the outside of the chain doesn't do you any good.

I have always had pretty good luck with White Lightning, but I don't care for the 'new and improved' Race Day formulation at all. The original formula only needed a good shaking to mix but this new stuff separates out and you actually have to heat it up to even get it out of the bottle. It's like little balls of the wax clabber up and stay that way until heated. It's a real inconvenience to have to remember to take a glass of near-boiling water to the garage whenever you want to touch up your chain or pulleys.

I use Finish Line Teflon or Triflow depending on which bottle has more in it at the time.

so far i have used White lightning, Pedros extra dry, motorx dry lube(some swis brand), pedros Road and ATB lubes.
I find the Pedros extra dry is good but its not really all that dry. white lightning is also a good choice but is a bit time conssuming to apply and remove.
but i would say your just going to have to try them to find one that works for YOU and YOUR conditions. but i like the Pedros extra dry the best becuase its easy to put on and take off, and for me thats a plus becuase i clean my drivetrain about every 2-3 rides (2-3 days worth of riding and before each race)

Prolink works the best for me. Any conditions.

I have always used White Lightning on my road bike, but I just noticed that I have a trial-size Finish Line Teflon. It was kind of a "gift with purchase" when I got some other Finish Line stuff at the LBS. Based on what people are saying here, I'll have to try it out.
Another vote here for Triflow. Hubby has gotten ALOT of miles out of his chain(s) with this stuff. Of course he is religious about cleaning and lubing the chain at least once a week or every 3-4 rides.
Triflow can be found in other places other than bike shops/catalogs, often at decent sale prices, which is nice!

Does any one just wax their chain anymore? I used to just basically boil my chain in wax for about 15 minutes every two weeks or 500 miles or after wet conditions and had no problems. You never had to clean it because nothing stuck to it and your hands stayed clean after tire changes. I am sure the new lubes are much more technologically superior but if it worked then I am sure it will still work now. After all that I haven't done it that way in 10 years, but I am thinking about doing it again.

I've always used Triflow until I ended up with the freebie bottle of Finish Line Teflon with another purchase. I've been using that the last few weeks and it seems pretty good too. I haven't noticed much difference in "crap" buildup betweek the two, but I think I'll go back to the triflow just because I found it slightly nicer to apply (and as mentioned before, you can get good prices on it if you look around outside the bicycle world too).
Never have tried anything else.

Pro Link chain lube. Works great. Let it dry overnight before you go off on a ride. That lets it dry so sand and grit won't stick to it.

I have them all, various people will ask me to use a cerytain kind when servicing their bikes. Tri Flow is the most pleasent to use, Pedro's ice wax is the worst.
When I stared out I used white lightning, now I use ProLink.
