Foo - Biker's tan; Cool, or not so much?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So as a result of my two hour bike ride in the sun I now have bright red arms and bright white hands.
Do you think this look could ever catch on?

No i don't. I dont wear gloves so i don't have that problem, but what i do have is about an inch wide band around my upper arms of slightly less tan tan.
It's caused by the fact that my jersey has shorter sleeves then my T-shirts and that my rides are usually around 6-7pm
They let people park thier bikes in my local tanning bed place /wink.
Hmm, where's Cypress? He should weigh in on this.

My biker's tan is on my feet cuz of the SPD sandals. Looks goofy.

Heh. I have nearly rid myself of cycling tan lines. In fact, I almost have no tan lines at all. ;)
Hmm. Someone's been nekkid.

Heh, Mongo, that is so not me. :D
Someone should come up with stick-on designs for times like that. If you're going to have sharply divided light and dark areas like that, may as well have some fun and add some designs to it. :)

Yeah. One could put "demarcated" latitudes on the affected areas. For the moment, I'm thinkin' politically-based (international level). Perhaps others have other, and possible more fun ideas....

No.
I work it anyway. White hands, white mid-thighs, white ankles and feet. I have a couple cross-back and sleeveless jerseys that I alternate. You can get tan at 8 a.m. out here. I despise the Fred tan but have to deal with it --might as well make it work for me.

if whale tales, tramp stamps, and crocs could catch on, why not bikers tans?

I find that other outdoor stuff, such as frisbee, will help even out biker tan line on the hands.
Also, you may want sunscreen, Melenoma is the suck.

Why of course! Amongst those who bicycle that is.
I'm usually have that, and white feet - and since I usually wear a T-back/racerback kinda shirt - I usually have a white stripe down my spine with dark shoulder blades.
Such a good bikini compliment :D

/\ That's hilarious.
I always rocked the tan hands with WHITE fingers back when I rode BMX bikes ALL summer. With roadie hand positions and no gloves, that isn't really the case anymore. My roadie shorts are shorter than my board shorts, and I'm just accustomed to the T-shirt tan.

I use blockout as often as possible to try and protect my skin and avoid skin cancer. Too many friends and relatives of mine have gained the old melanoma for me to sit back and ignore it. I currently have three particular moles I'm keeping an eye on. The sad fact is, even though I do my best, the crappy tan lines are still appearing. BUMMER. :(

Hey, I am no where near as bad as that computer programmer, maybe web developers are different though. Although I am rocking out a farmers tan pretty solidly.

My bro's arm is like that from driving. I was working on evening my tan out a bit but tbh i don't care much for tanning or looking beautiful. If i was meant to look beautiful i'd be in Hollywood.

I've just become inspired to move to North Carolina to become a cabana boy and general all-purpose sun-screen applicator. :D

With my family heritage including Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and German, I can only dream of aspiring to the level of the computer programmer's tan. And shaving my legs just makes it worse. Let's just say that I inspired the song A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum. So for me, the biker tan catching on in a non-issue.

??? <curious Vega look>Endor's forest moon was the site of the Battle of Endor, the turning point of the Galactic Civil War, eventually leading to the Galactic Empire's defeat at the hands of the Rebel Alliance.
You really should catch up on your history (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_of_the_Jedi), lest you be doomed to repeat it.

Heh. I must be the only adult from the era to never have seen any of the Star Wars films. (With the exception of catching brief bits of them on TV in between cooking dinner and having friends over.)
Heh. Guess I'm a Star Wars virgin. <uh-oh. What did that unleash?! :D >
If it makes you feel better, most of the people who have seen them are virgins as well... :p
